Our client had dreamed of having a library in her home since she was a little girl. This sacred space needed to honor her ancestors and provide a space for her to relax while doing what she loves most – reading.
Our client had chosen an Amish cabinet company to create her bookshelves and layout. Our task was to make them personalized to her style and add a touch of sparkle.
Our client takes pride in her heritage and ancestry and wanted this space to be where she could celebrate and honor them every day. We needed to find a place to display her photos and G5 Doll beautifully.
After reviewing her design assessment, we discovered that our client loves rich colors that make her feel cozy. The paint color for the shelving that spoke with her most was a deep purple which provided us with a starting point for all of the other colors, fabrics, and materials used in the space.
To make the room feel cozy, but not too dark we used vibrant fabrics, gold accents, and even hired added wallpaper to the ceiling. The most special area of this library is the altar where our client’s family photos are displayed on the wall. This provides a place for her to see those who came before her every day while she enjoys her newly designed space.
