What is Your Luxurious Design Style? — Top 5 Questions to Ask Your Inner Designer

Before you begin to pick apart your room, you should be aware of your luxurious design style. Do you know what that is?
Here is a list of the five questions to ask your inner designer to determine your luxurious design style:

1.    How Much Money Are You Willing to Spend?

The first thing you look at when designing your room is your bank account. If you do not have the cash to make big purchases, you should decide what you can afford before you running up charges on your credit card.

If you fear your room will not look good because you do not have the means to buy extravagant furniture, you couldn’t be more wrong. You can still make your room beautiful and exquisite looking by investing in mass-produced furniture. Go for a modern look rather than a traditional look, as going antique will cost you more.

2.    Do You Prefer Form or Function?

Should you choose delicate furnishings or comfortable furnishings? The choice of furnishings you choose depends on the size of your family and your family’s lifestyle. You will not want to purchase delicate furnishings if you have rambunctious kids running around the house all day. Instead, you want to opt for furnishings with simple drapes and sturdy exterior.

3.    What Type of Colors Do You Like the Most?

Color is the soul of the room. Take it out and you have an unattractive and soulless room. It livens up the room and highlights the furniture, which is why it is vital that you know what color(s) works for you. Do you lean towards warm colors or cool colors? Do you prefer bright or muted colors? The color you select should reflect the theme of your room.

4.    Do You Prefer a Traditional, Modern or Eclectic Look?

Traditional style is known for big pieces with fabrics and colors that lean more neutral and muted. Modern style is more sleek and incorporates a variety of materials such as metal and glass. Eclectic is the style that combines both of these together. It marries the curves and colors of traditional with the angles and risks of modern design.

5.    How Do You Plan to Use the Room?

The furniture you pick for the room will be dependent on how you plan to use it. Will you use it as a TV room? A room to entertain guests? Or both? If you are using it as a TV room, you will want to have comfortable furnishings. If you are using it to entertain guests, you can have more sophisticated furniture using a layout that promotes conversation.
